I have taken a photo of Gill's completed part of the "Mellerstain Firescreen" from the Crewel Work designs by Phillipa Turnbull. Gill has stitched this to inspire you to enjoy one of Phillipa's kits.

We are stocking a larger range of Windflower Embroidery, “Wool Embroidery and Applique” kits. Jan Kerton has added a new “Pattern Kit” to include “Panda” joining the “Monkeys”, Giraffes and Lions. Also a complete Kit for “Zoo Trio”. This includes your fabric, toy filler, needles and threads, plus easy to follow instructions.

We are keeping all of Jan’s kits, as well as single pieces of Velour and stabiliser at $12. We now have a piece of spotted velour for you to make your Giraffes, again. This is also $12 for the velour and stabiliser.

We also have the MILL HILL Santas for 2010. These include “Captain Santa”, “Boatswain Santa” and “First Mate Santa” and are $11.00 each.

The Gingher 2010 Designer Series 4” Scissors have arrived. They are $60 a pair packed in a Collectible Tin. Also the 8” Dressmaker’s Shears, at $77 a pair also packaged in a Collectible Tin.

The JUST CROSS STITCH ORNAMENTS 2010 is a lovely issue this year, with many easy, appealing and quick designs to stitch. I have started already, with JBW’s little “STAR”.

August Update - Tiny Treasures and Christmas is coming!

I have photographed the “Tiny Treasures” by Betsy Morgan in Inspirations # 65, that Gill has stitched and assembled for display in the shop.

Gill is very happy to discuss this lovely project with you on either Mondays or Tuesdays, 9.30 until 5.00pm.

We also have a “pic” of the cover for this year’s Just Cross Stitch Ornaments 2010. The price will be the same as previous years, $15.00. We expect our copies at the end of September.

For those of you who are wishing to have your Shepherd’s Bush Stocking made-up by Robin Holden. The cut-off date will be the first week of November. Robin will be having a well earned rest before Christmas. Robin put together 83 stockings, in 2009.

This year’s Shepherd’s Bush Stocking will be for a girl, and we are waiting to see “Her”. Hopefully we will have our stock when the Stocking is released, approximately September/October.

Look on our web site at “What’s New”, as we receive new charts, magazines and gift items.

We are steadily improving our threads for easier ordering. We have a full range of Anchor Marlitt and Danish Flower Threads.

Please meet our wonderful staff:
Gill, Lyn, Julie and Margaret are just here to help with your enquiries and phone orders, if you do not wish to use our Secure Shopping Basket.

On Mondays and Tuesdays, Gill, Julie and I are here in the shop. Wednesdays, Julie and I can help you. Lyn is a great help on Thursdays.

Gill has been a wonderful support for the past 13 years and is passionate about her stitching. Gill has a beautiful colour sense and has also helped many distant customers with her advice over the phone.

Her interests cover Crewel Work, Wool Embroidery and Thread Painting, Patchwork and Quilting. Many of our “smalls” in the shop have been stitched and finished by Gill, using designs from “Inspirations” magazine and other popular Designers.

Lyn is a very experienced Needlewoman with exquisite work in all facets of embroidery. Her main love is for Japanese Embroidery which she has been enjoying for quite a few years. Lyn also enjoys stitching “smalls” and very challenging projects.

Julie has joined us this year, and already is looking after many customers.

Her interests are varied within our shop, with some new directions. Julie is looking after many of our young Mum’s, coming into the shop.

OUR NEW WEB SITE
Please explore our new web site and we value your comments about this. Your secure mail orders will be accessed and processed quickly, we will notify you if an item is out of stock. This upgrade will make it much easier for you to look around our various areas of stock, that may interest you. The new website also allows you to save your shopping cart between visits whcih can be so helpful!
Not everything in stock is on the site as yet, but we are working on this for you.

WORKSHOPS
After a four year break, we have re-introduced our classes and workshops. We are holding these in a near-by Church Hall, which has excellent light and amenities.

SHEPHERD’S BUSH
We have a full stock of Shepherd’s Bush Stocking charts, the Charm Packs for each stocking and the Floba or Linen cut to size. Also a full range of the Weeks Dye Works hand-dyed Perle #5 skeins and Crescent Colours hand-dyed Perle #5 skeins. All of the DMC Perle #5 skeins are stocked.

If you wish, we have a service where Robin Holden will put your stockings together. Robin assembled 83 stockings in 2009. We are happy to supply a cut piece of velvet for the backing, wadding and homespun for the lining.

BLACKBIRD DESIGNS
We have been stocking Alma Allen and Barb Adams very popular books, charts and “Loose Feather’s” Club charts and R & R Hand Dyed Linen for each project.
These are a very popular collection and it seems that many cannot wait for a new design to arrive !

I will let you know when new designs are on their way.

CROSS-STITCH CHARTS
We are always happy to order charts for you from the US, and these take approximately 10 – 12 days to arrive.
